The unofficial Power Chord label is publishing this double CD containing two concerts by Joan Jett with the Blackhearts: the first recorded at the Bottom Line in New York on December 20, 1980 and taken from the radio broadcast of the WNEW-FM station; the second fixed on tape at the Malibu Beach Nightclub in Lido Beach (New York) on May 1, 1981 and taken from the broadcast of WLIR-FM. In these two shows, the singer and guitarist performs songs from her debut solo album “Bad Reputation” (including the title track, “You Don’t Know What You Got” and the anthem “I Love Rock N’ Roll”, taken from the 70s repertoire of the British Arrows and which has become her immortal warhorse) as well as covers of classics by Eddie Cochran (“Summertime Blues”), the Isley Brothers (“Shout”), Sam The Sham And The Pharaohs (“Wooly Bully”), Tommy James & The Shondells (“Crimson And Clover”), David Bowie (“Rebel Rebel”) and pieces from her old band, the Runaways.
