★The ultimate best 2-disc set that thoroughly covers Jimmy Page’s early sessions
★From his 1965 solo single to

Jimmy Page has participated in many works as a session guitarist since he was 19 years old before joining The Yardbirds. A long-awaited 2-disc set (normal jewel case size) that thoroughly covers his sessions from his unknown days to his Yardbirds days is now available for enthusiasts.
Page’s session records, which were shrouded in mystery, have been researched by enthusiasts and researchers in recent years, and many of them are being unraveled. Just looking at the names of the artists who have been confirmed to have participated, it is a luxurious lineup that could be said to be the history of 1960s British rock.
Page’s first job was playing acoustic guitar on Jet Harris & Tony Meehan’s single “Diamonds,” which reached number one in the UK. He also played acoustic guitar on the theme song for the movie “Goldfinger,” conducted by John Barry and sung by Shirley Bassey. Surprisingly, he played harmonica on Chicago blues song “Stirs Me Up” by Otis Spann.
In 1965, he released a solo single. “She Just Satisfies” features a refreshing guitar riff that is reminiscent of what would later become ZEP, and the B-side “Keep Movin'” is an instrumental track with a harp and a passionate guitar solo.
This single didn’t sell, but Page continued to play sessions energetically. He performed in sessions with Françoise Hardy
and The Who, making full use of the fuzz pedal (the same pedal as the Stones’ Satisfaction pedal), which was the only one Page owned in the UK at the time. He
also performed with the Stones and the Kinks, as well as David Bowie, Rod Stewart, and Joe Cocker in their early days. In his recordings with Nico, he used a 12-string guitar to create a sound reminiscent of ZEP.
Many recordings were made at the recording studios of Shel Talmy and A. Oldham, but this album mainly features tracks where Page can be heard playing, giving a glimpse into his activities at the time. Page
directed “I’m Your Witch Doctor,” the first single that Eric Clapton recorded when he joined the Bluesbreakers, and they also recorded “Choker” around the same time. “A Degree Of Murder,” his collaboration with Brian Jones in a phantom film, is also valuable. Of course, the album also includes his signature songs, such as “Stroll On,” “Beck’s Bolero,” and “The Phantom Decade” with the Yardbirds, with his friend Jeff Beck.
The booklet, which is full of detailed data on all the songs and behind-the-scenes stories, is also a must-read, and is worth a read just for that. This is the ultimate Page session collection, which is different from the past releases of Page session recordings that were “too long for the sash.”
