Royal Albert Hall, London, UK 24th February 1969 STEREO SBD
★UPGRADE!!! Already released is a Diff Source!
Super clear upper soundboard… this is amazing!!
☆Since the source is different from the previous release, the sound that was a bit crushed in the previous title has been resolved in this work! And by thoroughly decomposing the master sound source into multi-tracks using the latest technology and remixing it with treatment, the arrangement of the instruments has been corrected to the way it should be! The sound is suddenly direct and clear!
Despite all the progress made in sorting through Jimi Hendrix’s recordings, the second night of the 1969 Royal Albert Hall concert still remains unreleased. Due to video contracts and a lack of clear rights, the release never materialized, even in 2019, when it seemed like the perfect time to release it. This is all the more ironic considering that bootlegs of the recordings themselves were already circulating in Jimi’s final years.
With the advent of the CD era, high-quality multi-track recordings became available, cementing Jimi’s place as a classic live recording of 1969. In 2022, our store’s masterpiece, “ROYAL ALBERT HALL 1969 2ND NIGHT COMPLETE,” was released, and sold out before being re-released.
In this case, it would be OK to just re-release it for the second time, but we will not miss this great opportunity, and this time we will release the second day of the Royal Albert Hall, which has been reborn in a different dimension from a simple reissue!
This release differs from “ROYAL ALBERT HALL 1969 2ND NIGHT COMPLETE” in that it’s source material is different. The previously released version was based on “PRINCE ALBERT DOES NOT BITE THE TONGUE,” which has been circulating among music enthusiasts since the early 21st century. However, due to the file’s age-related deterioration from CD-R trading, the previously released version restored the distorted waveforms to the greatest extent possible. This time, however, the recording has been completely reworked based on the fresh, unaltered file released by Prof. Stoned in 2020. The undisturbed waveforms alone allow for a wider sound range than the previously released version. Furthermore, the latest AI technology, used in the highly acclaimed “BERKELEY 1970 1ST SHOW: 2024 STEREO REMIX,” has been used to remix the sound, resulting in a significantly clearer stereo mix.
Before remastering and remixing, the latest AI technology was used (this technology has also evolved significantly since 2024). The six parts of Mitch’s drums, Jimi Hendrix’s guitar, Jimi Hendrix’s vocals, Noel’s bass, and 10 tracks of audience cheers were broken down into a total of 10 tracks. Each track was then remastered and remixed, resulting in a super-clear stereo soundboard on a different level from the previously released version.
Additionally, the mix on which the previously released album was based was created in the 1970s, with guitar in the center, bass on the right, and drums on the left, which is undeniably an outdated mix balance, for better or worse. Jimi Hendrix’s guitar in the center, in particular, would be an unthinkable interpretation today. Therefore, this time, the image has been revised to the standard of recent official Jimi Hendrix releases, with bass on the left, drums and vocals in the middle, and guitar on the right. As you can see from the photo, Mitch is centered onstage, so the previously released album’s placement of Jimi in the center is all the more dated.
In any case, the separation and vividness of the sound in this remix are so amazing that if you listen to it without any prior knowledge, you’ll be fooled into thinking it’s finally been officially remixed and released. While the original was an officially recorded multi-track, the sound quality was excellent, this time it easily surpasses that. Not only has the stereo balance been reborn with such a brilliant arrangement, but the sound quality itself is suddenly clearer and more crisp.
And above all, the stunning performance of Jimi and the Experience is captured with perfect sound quality. Unlike the frenzy at the LA Forum two months after the official release, the quiet atmosphere of the Albert Hall allows Jimi Hendrix to concentrate more than usual on his playing. The result is a rare performance of not only “Red House” but also the new slow blues “Bleeding Heart” twice, and the highlight is a masterful rendition of “Little Wing.” This renowned recording, which could never have been officially released, has been polished and reborn in perfect condition for everyone from beginners to enthusiasts! This title is highly recommended even for those who already own the album!
