Description
Ids is releasing a limited-edition clear vinyl set of unofficial, radio-sourced live recordings previously circulated on CD, featuring a series of cross-collaborations between Jeff Beck, Mick Jagger, and Stevie Ray Vaughan that took place in New York between 1987 and 1989. Joined by the former Yardbirds member on lead guitar, GB Smith on second guitar, Tim Stevens on bass, and Anton Fig on drums, the Rolling Stones singer performed the outtake “Danger Up Ahead,” a “Blues Jam,” and an outtake from “Emotional Rescue” (“Gangster’s Moll”) in the studio during warm-up rehearsals for the album “Primitive Cool.” Two years later, at Madison Square Garden, Beck headlined a show that featured four songs released on the contemporaneous album “Jeff Beck’s Guitar Shop” and his signature tune, “Freeway Jam.” Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition” brings him together with Stevie Ray Vaughan, who in this version hosts his English colleague on stage during the New York date of the 1989 “Fire Meets The Fury” tour.
