HEARTBREAKERS – BITTER END ’84 (2 CD-R)

The Heartbreakers, whose energetic activities included a remix of “L.A.M.F.” and a Lyceum reunion gig in 1984, later released as a live album and video, are now available. This rare item features a high-quality stereo audience recording of a live performance at The Bitter End in New York City on August 27, 1984! The sound quality is exceptionally clear for the time, with a wide range and excellent balance throughout. While a portion of the first set from this performance was previously included on the same label’s “THE PALAIS 1984 (TOTH2767),” this release marks the first time the complete recording, including the second set, has been released. The setlist features a rare lineup of the Heartbreakers without Johnny, including rare tracks from Walter’s band, The Waldos, such as “Busted” and “Party Lights.” Best of all, this is a rare live performance featuring Jerry Nolan on guitar and vocals on three tracks, including “Take A Chance With Me,” which was also released as a solo single! The first set features “Take A Chance With Me” performed twice, with Walter on vocals on the first take and Jerry, the composer, on vocals on the second. While Johnny is absent, this rare Heartbreakers album features Buddy Bowser on sax, providing plenty of enjoyment!
