Description

Dane County Coliseum, Madison, WI, USA 19th December 1987 STEREO SBD

A special edition of GUNS N’ ROSES featuring Fred Khoury of CINDERELLA. This soundboard album will let you experience the precious live performance right in your mind.
This work permanently preserves the “December 19, 1987 Madison Performance.” It is a stereo soundboard recording. At the time, the legendary “APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION Tour” was turning the music scene upside down, but during that time, Steven Adler broke his arm in a bar fight. Fred sat on the stool as a substitute. When did this special lineup come to fruition? Let’s take a look back at the band’s activities at the time and delve into the position of this work.

This is GUNS N’ ROSES from 1987/1988. Fred filled in for a total of nine performances marked with an “*.” We archive as many extremely rare shows as possible, and “DEFINITIVE PASADENA 1987 SOUNDBOARD (Zodiac 727)” is a classic. This is a good opportunity to further focus on the dates and organize your collection.

This recording of such a show is a powerful, dynamic, and top-notch update. While a well-known soundboard, this one further refines the best masters provided by overseas researchers. The sound is clearly superior to the “DEFINITIVE PASADENA 1987 SOUNDBOARD
.” It offers a well-balanced sound from high to low, with plenty of midrange density. While roughly considered “official excavation quality,” the master is in excellent condition, with almost no creases or dubbing marks. In fact, while previous versions were terribly out of tune (this one is naturally just right and extremely stable), it has been completely reborn into something completely different.
[A Fred version of APPETITE-like soundboard album]
This upgraded sound is like “APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION re-recorded with Fred’s drums.” Because this was an opening act for Alice Cooper, the set was short, about 50 minutes long, but the set, which extracted seven killer tracks from the Revolution album and added “Move To The City” and “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door,” was particularly rich. Perhaps because it had been a week since Adler’s sudden departure, Fred was well-familiar with the band, and the ensemble was impeccable.
In addition to the set, Axl Rose’s storytelling is also a highlight of this album. Before “Move to the City,” he explains the circumstances surrounding Adler’s departure and Fred’s joining, but even more so on “Blues Jam.” Over a simple jam, Axl recounts an incident in Chicago the day before, when someone accused him of looking like Bon Jovi because of his long hair. Axl apparently responded, “Bon Jovi, suck my dick.” The sound of this album ensures that every word Axl says flows perfectly into your brain.
Although the number of songs is not as large as the solo performance “DEFINITIVE PASADENA 1987 SOUNDBOARD,” it is a soundboard album with the highest quality and updated to surpass the standard. This is a further refinement of the best masters recommended by researchers. Enjoy it anytime, anywhere with the permanent preservation press CD.

This stereo soundboard recording of the “December 19, 1987 Madison concert” is a top-of-the-line update that further refines the best masters provided by overseas researchers, and the pitch is perfectly normal, completely different from the previous masters. This is a new and definitive recording that allows you to enjoy the rare stage performance featuring CINDERELLA’s Fred Khoury on drums.
