The monumental “IN CONCERT 1976,” a historic concert film that conveys “GENESIS with Bill Bruford.” The official transcendental version that updates its peak is now available.
[A legendary concert film with fatal flaws]
”IN CONCERT 1976″ needs no introduction. Directed by film director Tony Maylam, it’s a multi-camera concert film shot at the Glasgow show on July 9th, 1976, and the Staffordshire show on July 10th. It was released in theaters the following year, in 1977, and later released on DVD in 1994. It’s a long-standing staple, having also been officially released on DVD in the box set “GENESIS 1976-1982.”

However, these official versions had a fatal flaw: pitch. Whether it was a mistake or intentional production, it was unclear, but the speed was increased, resulting in a finish far removed from the original live performance. For this reason, enthusiasts have been producing speed-adjusted versions, and we have also introduced upgraded versions as gift titles in our shop.
This film is one such upgraded
version. However, it is not the same one we introduced previously, but the latest version from 2025, which makes full use of the latest AI technology!

Of course, the pitch, which was a problem this time, has been corrected, but the upgrade of this work does not stop there. The biggest effect is the high image quality achieved by upscaling. Not only has the resolution doubled, but the processing of highlights, contours, and edges has also been greatly improved. The original source is said to be a transfer from the 1990s, but it has been reborn as if it had been newly digitally re-transcribed.
The naturalness is incredible. In fact, AI processing itself has been tested for several years, but in previous versions the pixels themselves remained rough, and the forcibly emphasized contours appeared to be imperfectly shiny. However, this time it’s super natural. It’s not just fine detail; it reproduces not only the skin texture of the members, but also the graininess of the smoke being blown on stage, and even the texture of the film itself. When played simultaneously with the previous version, the previous AI remastered version makes the members’ costumes look unnatural, as if they were made of vinyl or something, but this version even has a realistic feel to it, down to the fabric.
[Additional bonus pro shots included]
While the main feature of the film “In Concert 1976” is heartwarming enough, this release also includes bonus pro shots. Promo clips for “A Trick of the Tail” and “Ripples” are included. This is a natural transfer from laser disc and has not been AI-restored, but since it was created by the same person who produced the main feature, “In Concert 1976,” it is the most beautiful version ever.

Tony Maylam, the director of “In Concert 1976,” is already 82 years old. There are no signs of attempts to transfer the original film, and there are concerns that the film itself may deteriorate over time. This film is the highest quality “In Concert 1976” we can hope to see in 2025. Enjoy this film, which closely resembles the beauty of the original film with an ultimate natural feel and represents the cutting edge of modern archival technology.
This official, transcendent version of the legendary concert film “IN CONCERT 1976” reaches new heights. Not only has the speed correction, which was a problem in the official version, been corrected, but it’s also upscaled using the latest AI technology. Not only has the resolution doubled, but highlight, contour, and edge processing have also been significantly improved. Even the skin tones of the band members, the texture of their costumes, and the graininess of the smoke being blown onstage are precisely reproduced. Plus, the music videos for “A Trick of the Tail” and “Ripples” are included as bonus footage in their best versions ever, making this the ultimate definitive edition.
