Bataclan Club, Paris, Paris 10th January 1973 PRO-SHOT
★UPGRADE & LONGER!!!!!
What is this?! An amazing, amazing upgrade has been realized!!
The classic pro shot known as the only video of the “FOXTROT Tour” has evolved into a complete version! The latest version, which is about twice as large as the previous version, has been urgently released.
This work was filmed at the Paris concert on January 10, 1973. It is a multi-camera professional shot at the famous Bataclan Theatre. This footage is a classic, especially famous during the Peter Gabriel era. It has been upgraded many times, and two years ago, the 50th anniversary version, which was brushed up using AI technology, became a hot topic. However, the upgrades so far have only improved the image quality and sound quality. The total length of approximately 33 minutes has not changed.
 However!
The new version that was released recently has been expanded to about 67 minutes, more than double the length. It includes the entire show from beginning to end, including the completely new “Watcher Of The Skies”! How did this happen? To be honest, the details are still unclear since it was just released, but let’s start with what we know.
[New film unearthed from a national institution]
First of all, this footage wasn’t discovered in its complete form. When you play it, it starts with the completely unreleased “Watcher of the Skies,” but right in the middle of this never-before-seen scene is the watermarked logo “ina.” This apparently refers to the French National Audiovisual Institute (Institut national de l’audiovisuel), which apparently runs the audiovisual archives of all French radio and television programs, and it’s likely that this new footage was unearthed there.
However, the addition of “Watcher of the Skies” doesn’t suddenly make the album 30 minutes longer. In fact, the previous version had each song edited to be shorter, and this time, the existing songs have been expanded to their full length. Let’s take a look at the additional time for each song.
Watcher Of The Skies (the entire 9.5 minute version is here for the first time)
The Musical Box (an increase of 6.5 minutes)
Supper’s Ready (an increase of 13.5 minutes)
The Return Of The Giant Hogweed (an increase of 5.5 minutes)
The Knife (an increase of 3 minutes)

Supper’s Ready (an increase of 13.5 minutes)
The Return Of The Giant Hogweed (an increase of 5.5 minutes)
The Knife (an increase of 3 minutes)
[Complete footage recreated with meticulous editing techniques]
…And that’s how it is. Since the intervals between songs are recorded in full, it’s impossible to say exactly how long each song is, but you can see that each song has been significantly extended.
Furthermore, this is not simply a longer version. In fact, it is a different edited version that uses many different angles of the same scenes as the previous version. This becomes obvious when you play it in sync with the previous version. When the footage is the same as the previous version, there is no logo, but when it is at a different angle, the logo appears. We don’t know how the new film was unearthed (full length or cut into pieces, etc.), but the presence or absence of the logo makes it possible to determine whether it is a scene that appears for the first time. It appears that the previous version has also been used in the re-editing.
The audio has also been re-edited. According to the overseas enthusiast who released it, “Half of the audio from the Bataclan performance was missing, so it was reconstructed from three or four different sources.” Again, the details are unclear, as the parts and specific sources have not been identified, but judging by the MC synchronization and sound quality, it seems certain that the inter-song segments were supplemented by the audience from the same day. The question is whether the performance segments, which were being performed for the first time, were also unearthed as soundboard audio, whether they were supplemented by the audience from the same show, or whether they were patched in with a soundboard from a different performance… It’s difficult to say for sure.
In any case, what’s surprising is the level of perfection, with almost no sense of incongruity in either the switching or the audio. The enthusiast who released it noted that “perfect synchronization was impossible,” but how on earth could that be possible?! The new film also increases the amount of switching between the old and new scenes. The more diverse angles have actually improved the level of perfection. Although the aforementioned watermark logo is present, if it weren’t for that, one would have thought that a perfect film had been unearthed from the start.
Genesis from the Peter Gabriel era, where the band transformed into a unique storytelling world, has finally been released in its full pro-shot form. Not only has it been expanded to more than twice its previous size, but you can also enjoy the completely new “Watcher of the Skies,” and various other angles have enhanced the perfection of the previous scenes. This is a shocking video that is nothing more than a cultural heritage that cannot be overlooked for even a second. It’s an absolute must-have for all prog fans. It’s an urgent release.

This is a classic video from the past, but this is the complete version, more than twice as long as the previous version.
