A super high-quality recording of the live performances at Osaka Castle Hall on October 21st and 22nd, 1997. It still sounds great even in 2025! In fact, the sound is amazing. Of course, DAT recording was common at that time, so the quality depends on the microphone equipment and recording position, and you can tell that it was recorded with a “good microphone” and a “good seat”. The killer number of this tour
was “Old Love”. This song’s solo is crucial in determining the quality of the live performance that day, and the performance at this Osaka show is superb and is sure to knock you out. And let’s not forget that the keyboardist for this tour was the late Joe Sample, a pianist who also played with The Crusaders. I hope you’ll listen to his amazing playing. The calls of “Keep it going all night!!!!”, “Come out soon!!”, and “Don’t go home!!!” are typical of Osaka. It really makes you think that live performances are the best.

PS: They don’t play Layla on electric guitar, but there is a part somewhere where they play a phrase from Layla. You’ll have to listen to find it.
