Description

Incredible show taken from public radio that has been long ignored by the Japanese labels!

Homespun is releasing an unofficial two-CD recording of an Eric Clapton concert from 1975, recovered from a copy of the live broadcast broadcast at the time by American public radio station NPR. This is the show that the English musician held on August 30 of that year at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia, a few months after the release of his third solo album “There’s One In Every Crowd” (of which, however, no song appears in the setlist): accompanied by George Terry on guitar, Dicks Sims on keyboards, Carl Radle on bass, Jamie Oldaker on drums and Yvonne Elliman and Marcy Levy on backing vocals, the singer and guitarist opens with two songs taken from the album under the name Derek And The Dominos (“Layla” and “Bell Bottom Blues”) a setlist packed with classics: there is a Blind Faith song (“Can’t Find My Way Home”) and one by Cream (“Badge”) as well as the more recent “Mainline Florida” (written by Terry), familiar blues standards made famous by Big Bill Broonzy, Little Walter, Bobby “Blue” Bland, T-Bone Walker and Sonny Boy Williamson and a cover of Marcy Levy’s “Teach Me To Be Your Woman”. “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door” by Bob Dylan and “Little Wing” by Jimi Hendrix.
