Description
This album features 10 tracks (11 on the CD, including “Last Night”) from sessions with numerous musicians held at The Band’s Shangri-La Studios. While the album credits list Rob Fraboni, who has worked with The Band, as producer, the recording sessions were actually led by Eric Clapton and Carl Radle, with Rob joining later in the process. Bob Dylan contributed “Sign Language” and also contributed vocals. Dylan also prepared a song called “Seven Days” for this album, but it wasn’t included on the album. Guest musician Ron Wood liked the song and it was featured on his album, Gimme Some Neck (1979). Among the previously unreleased tracks recorded during the sessions for this album are tracks featuring Van Morrison and Pete Townshend. The first single from the album, “Hello, Old Friend,” reached No. 24 on the US charts.
