Description
In July 1974 Eric Clapton returned to the music market in style with his second solo album “461 Ocean Boulevard”, an international success that at the time sold more than two million copies. That same month he also made a triumphant return to the stage accompanied by George Terry (guitar), Dicks Sims (keyboards), Carl Radle (bass), Jamie Oldaker (drums) and Yvonne Elliman (backing vocals): this unofficial CD on the Homespun label recovers the radio recording made by the WDCC-FM station of the show held at the Capital Centre in Largo, Maryland, on July 14 of that year and in which songs from the new repertoire such as the hit single “I Shot The Sheriff” (by Bob Marley’s Wailers), “Willie & The Hand Jive” by Johnny Otis and “Let It Grow” are joined by old warhorses of Cream, Derek and the Dominos and Blind Faith (Badge, “Layla”, “Presence Of The Lord”, “Little Wing” by Jimi Hendrix) and standards by Charlie Chaplin, Robert Johnson and Chuck Berry.
