Description
Published by Stylus Groove in just 500 hand-numbered copies and pressed on multicolored vinyl with a unique swirl pattern, this unofficial LP features a portion of the Doors’ June 5, 1970, concert at Seattle’s Center Coliseum, recorded on KUOW-FM’s vintage broadcast, a few months after the release of their album “Morrison Hotel.” It was the Doors’ fifth and final appearance in the Washington city, which was plagued by technical problems, a somewhat hostile audience, and Jim Morrison’s unpredictable behavior, including a few visionary tales on stage. This is also why it is a tense and intense performance, which the recording made by the group’s road manager Vince Treanor allows us to listen to again in good audio quality: among very well-known songs, an absolute rarity like “Someday Soon” stands out, an outtake that according to some historians of the group was performed live only on one other occasion (the previous May 2nd in Pittsburgh).
