Description

Released on the Parachute Recording Company label, this unofficial double LP reproduces for the first time on vinyl the second half of the concert Deep Purple held on January 26, 1976, at the Springfield City Center in Massachusetts, during the American leg (over thirty concerts) of the “Come Taste The Band Tour.” On stage is the Mark IV lineup of the English group, with the young American talent Tommy Bolin on guitar alongside David Coverdale (vocals), Glenn Hughes (vocals and bass), Jon Lord (keyboards), and Ian Paice (drums): “This Time Around”/”Owed To ‘G'” is the sequence taken from the new album, while from the previous “Stormbringer” the quintet reprises the title track; before the grand finale with “Highway Star,” there is time for a solo by Bolin and a cover of “Going Down” by Don Nix’s Alabama State Troupers.
