The unofficial Gossip label is re-releasing a famous David Gilmour bootleg, recorded on March 7, 2006, during the warm-up date for the “On an Island” tour at London’s Mermaid Theatre, which was broadcast on BBC television at the time. The day before, on the occasion of his sixtieth birthday, the English artist had released the album “On an Island,” whose songs occupy the first five tracks of the setlist, while the final section is filled with Pink Floyd classics, performed with a formidable band that once again included Richard Wright on keyboards (and lead vocals on “Wearing the Inside Out”), along with former Roxy Music man Phil Manzanera on second guitar and backing vocals, Jon Carin (keyboards, slide guitar and backing vocals), Guy Pratt (bass), Dick Parry (saxophone), and Steve DiStanislao (formerly of Crosby Stills & Nash) on drums.
