The unofficial “Radio Waves” series published by Expensive Woodland Recordings is enriched with a new issue dedicated to David Bowie. It is a 3-CD box containing over 3 hours of recordings: the first disc covers a period of time between 1965 and 1970 with demos, outtakes and radio sessions for BBC programs such as “Top Gear”, “Sounds Of The Seventies” and “The Sunday Show”; the second disc includes songs written in the ’60s but performed in the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s including covers of “I Can’t Explain” (Who), “I Got You Babe” (Sonny & Cher), “White Light/White Heat” (Velvet Underground), “No Fun” and “I Wanna Be Your Dog” (both by the Stooges); the third collects sessions and live performances dating back to 1970, including Bowie compositions such as “Space Oddity”, “The Width Of A Circle” and “Janine” and other reinterpretations of other people’s songs (the Velvet Underground’s “I’m Waiting For The Man”, Jacques Brel’s “Amsterdam”, Biff Rose’s “Fill Your Heart”).
