Description
Pressed on limited edition orange vinyl and on the Dear Boss label, the unofficial LP “The Prettiest Star” reproduces David Bowie’s fourth BBC Session recorded on February 5, 1970 at the Paris Theatre in London and broadcast by the network on February 8 during the program “The Sunday Show” presented by John Peel. The English artist, who less than three months earlier had released the album “David Bowie” commonly known as “Space Oddity”, offers tracks from that album, singles of the period such as the title track and covers of “Amsterdam” by Jacques Brel and of “Buzz The Fuzz” and “Fill Your Heart” by Biff Rose (which he later included in “Hunky Dory”) accompanied by the Tony Visconti Trio aka The Hype on that occasion composed of Visconti himself on bass), John Cambridge on drums and Mick Ronson on guitar, for the first time alongside Bowie.
