Description
Bernard Lenoir, often called “the French John Peel”, began his “Black Sessions” – studio performances broadcast on France Inter’s “C’est Lenoir” programme – in 1992, but it wasn’t until twelve years later that he was able to host one of his favourite bands, The Cure, on the show. This limited, unofficial, coloured double LP from Parachute Recording features the band’s one-and-a-half-hour performance in its entirety (minus two tracks that were cut from the broadcast for time reasons), released on vinyl for the first time. Robert Smith and co perform the single “The End Of The World”, “Taking Off” and “Before Three” from their new album “The Cure” alongside classics such as “A Night Like This”, “Charlotte Sometimes”, “Disintegration” and “The Kiss” as well as other cuts from their past repertoire.
