Description

Beacon Theatre, New York City, NY, USA 13th April 1975 STEREO SBD
CHICAGO in 1975, which achieved four consecutive No. 1 albums in the US with “CHICAGO VIII.” Introducing a soundboard album that synchronizes the whole body with live performances.
This work was recorded at the “April 13, 1975 New York City” performance. It is a superb stereo soundboard recording. Speaking of 1975, the excavated live album “CHICAGO XXXIV: LIVE IN ’75” was officially released, but of course, this work is a different performance. First, let’s take a look at the position of this work while taking a bird’s-eye view of the activities at that time.
・February 23rd / March 11th: North America #1 (2 shows)
{“CHICAGO VIII” released on March 24th}
・April 11th – July 6th: North America #2 (31 shows) ←★here★
・July 25th – August 1st: North America #3 (7 shows)
・August 15th – September 20th: North America #4 (15 shows)
・October 7th – 23rd: North America #5 (12 shows)
・November 7th – 25th: North America #6 (12 shows)
[Completely official, top-of-the-line soundboard]
This is CHICAGO in 1975. This New York performance was the third performance of “North America # 2” shortly after the album was released. The official recording date for “CHICAGO XXXIV: LIVE IN ’75” was “June 24-26,” and this work was about two months before that.
This show is also known for being broadcast on radio, and this work was made into a CD from the latest master. The quality is simply “completely official grade.” Not only is the sound quality perfect, but the mix of each instrument is precise, and the balance and stability are ironclad. There is no clumping feeling that is common in broadcasts, and it even has a wide stereo feel. In fact, even when mixed and played with the genuine official soundboard “CHICAGO XXXIV: LIVE IN ’75,” it doesn’t sound inferior at all.
[Another pinnacle live album, similar but not identical to the official work]
The perfect sound depicts a show that is similar but not identical to the official “LIVE IN ’75,” while focusing on the epic “Ballet For A Girl In Buchannon.” The approximately 50-minute broadcast is far from a full show, but it still showcases repertoire not included in “LIVE IN ’75.” Finally, let’s organize the comparison.
●Ballet for a Girl in Bacannon
, Make Me Smile, So Much To Say, So Much To Give, Anxiety’s Moment, West Virginia Fantasies, Colour My World, To Be Free, Now More Than Ever
●Others
: Opening: Call On Me, Saturday In The Park (★), Beginnings
, Ending: Just You ‘n’ Me, (I’ve Been) Searchin’ So Long, 25 Or 6 To 4, Feelin’ Stronger Every Day
*Note: Songs marked with “★” are not included in the official “CHICAGO XXXIV: LIVE IN ’75”.
Although it has ceded its throne to the official “LIVE IN ’75,” the Storyteller FM soundboard has been conveying the “CHICAGO VIII Tour” for many years. This is its pinnacle. It is another apex live album that offers a similar but different performance, while still being comparable in quality to the official work. Please enjoy this best master work to your heart’s content.
