Pressed on the Hobblers label in only 100 numbered copies on blue/orange marble vinyl, “Pearls! Volume One” contains 11 live recordings taken from various concerts held by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band between 2013, 2014 and 2016 in Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, the United States and Australia. It is almost entirely a selection of covers that confirm the open-mindedness, taste and broad musical culture of the musician from New Jersey, here grappling with songs by artists such as Dobie Gray (“Drift Away”, which the Boss began performing in the 80s), Temptations, Troggs, Lorde, Van Halen, Martha & the Vandellas, Wilson Pickett, Roy Head & The Traits, Prince and David Bowie while “Seven Angels” is an outtake of “Human Touch” that appeared on the “Tracks” box set in 1998.
