Description
Rockin’ Bear Records is reproducing on an unofficial CD the concert Joe Gruscheky gave with his Houserockers on October 19, 1995, at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia, featuring his friend Bruce Springsteen for the entire show. The performance, broadcast on the radio at the time, was characterized by the best blue-collar rock, featuring highlights from the Pittsburgh artist’s catalog (“Pumping Iron” dates back to his Iron City Houserockers days) and from his “American Babylon” album, produced by Springsteen himself, co-writer of “Homestead” and “Dark and Bloody Ground,” and featuring “Murder Incorporated” and “Light of Day” from his repertoire. The duo’s shared musical passions are evident in covers of Wilson Pickett’s “Mustang Sally” and Van Morrison’s “Brown Eyed Girl.”
