Between February and August 1986, Bob Dylan headlined a famous tour with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers entitled “True Confessions” which touched New Zealand, Australia, Japan, the United States and Canada. The dates of February 24th and 25th at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, where the caravan had already stopped for four concerts two weeks earlier, were used as a video film, and from the recordings of this film this unofficial CD on the Homespun label was also made: 14 songs that are mainly based on the repertoire of the Duluth master, with classics such as “Positively Fourth Street”, “All Along The Watchtower”, “Just Like A Woman”, “Blowin’ In The Wind” and “Like A Rolling Stone” reinvigorated by the great musical quality and rock arrangements of the Heartbreakers and Petty, who find their place in the spotlight with songs such as “Breakdown”, “Spike” and “So You Want To Be A Rock And Roll Star” by the Byrds, while other covers in the setlist before the grand finale of “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door” are “I Forgot More Than You’ll Ever Know” by Cecil Null (recorded by Dylan for “Self Portrait”), Chuck Berry’s “Bye Bye Johnny” and the late ’40s standard “That Lucky Old Sun”
