　A newly discovered, super important studio recording from the legendary BLACK SABBATH! This will be released simultaneously on two 2-CD sets, permanently preserving the impact of the recording!
　This is the second installment in a shocking two-part series. It’s a collection of studio outtakes from “PARANOID” and “MASTER OF REALITY.” Like its sister release, “STUDIO OUTTAKES 1969 (Zodiac 666),” it’s a two-disc expanded set packed with recordings unearthed specifically for the official deluxe edition, a vast array of outtakes incomparable to the official release.
　This work contains a total of 37 takes, approximately 1 hour and 51 minutes of studio takes. The contents are roughly divided into three sections by recording date, so let’s first review the activity history at that time and check the positional relationship of each section.

[DISC 1 First Half: PARANOID Sessions (7 takes + 1)]
　As mentioned above, “PARANOID” and “MASTER OF REALITY” were produced in between intense touring activities. The album opens with the “PARANOID” sessions, which took place at Island Studios on June 19, 1970. This two-part series was created by extracting parts from eight official Dela Eddie master CDs, and this session is the fifth volume. (By the way, volumes 1, 2, and 3 are the companion album “STUDIO OUTTAKES 1969,” and volume 4 is the Dela Eddie bonus disc for “PARANOID.” This album comes next.) While some sources state that the “PARANOID” sessions took place on June 16-18, the master recordings appear to date to June 19.
　The album contains three takes of “Paranoid” and four takes of “Rat Salad.” Both are different from the “PARANOID” Dela Eddie version, with “Paranoid” in particular featuring vocals. This release also includes “Paranoid (Clean Vocals),” which differs from the leaked master. This is a different mix with the same performance as the official final take, but with a more raw vocal sound.
[DISC 1, second half: MASTER OF REALITY sessions (January: 7 takes + 2)]
　The only outtakes from “PARANOID” are the above eight takes, and the rest of this work is an outtake from “MASTER OF REALITY”. This corresponds to Volume 7/8 of the eight excavation master CDs for Dela Eddie.
*Side note: Volume 6 was not released during this excavation. However, according to Martin Popoff’s classic book, “BLACK SABBATH FAQ,” only Volume 6 is a live recording, and based on the tracklist and running time, it is said that it may refer to “MONTREUX 1970.”
　The sessions for “Master of Reality” are said to have taken place on January 1, May 25, and May 26, 1971, with the recordings from January 1st included on the second half of Disc 1. While the production period for “Master of Reality” is generally considered to have been February to May 1971, this refers to the actual recordings for the album. The January sessions appear to have been songwriting sessions prior to the actual recordings.
　This is where “Into The Void” and its original “Spanish Sid” were produced, as well as “Weevil Woman” and “After Forever.” “Weevil Woman” is a non-album track that first appeared on “Master of Reality.”
　The two tracks “Into The Void (Unprocessed Vocals)” and “After Forever (Alt. Mix)” are different from the leaked master. They are different mixes using the official final version.
[DISC 2: MASTER OF REALITY Sessions (May: 20 takes)]
　The replacement DISC 2 also contains outtakes from “MASTER OF REALITY.” The first 15 takes are from the “May 25th” session, and it includes plenty of alternate versions of the five songs “Sweet Leaf,” “Orchid,” “Lord Of This World,” “Embryo,” and “Children Of The Grave.”
　The final five takes were taken the following day, on May 26th, and consisted of “Live In The Graveyard” and “Solitude.” “Live In The Graveyard” may be an unfamiliar song title, but it’s the sound effect at the end of “Children Of The Grave.” It’s a longer version of the part credited as “The Haunting” on the North American version of “MASTER OF REALITY.”
　Incidentally, the leaked masters (Volumes 7 and 8) of the “MASTER OF REALITY” sessions, which were released online, also included a sound effects track titled “The Sea That Never Came.” However, it was discovered that this was a performance by another band. Since it was determined not to be BLACK SABBATH, it is not included in this album. (Incidentally, this track is actually a sped-up version of TRAPEZE’s “Medusa.” Why “Medusa,” which was recorded in a different studio and produced by a different producer, was recorded on the “MASTER OF REALITY” session tapes remains a mystery…)
　This is a studio treasure collection spanning 37 takes and approximately 1 hour and 51 minutes.
