　The newly demixed version of Lord Reith’s “With the Beatles,” which will be released at the same time, is also amazing. This was also released as an upgraded version, “Fabracadabra,” and it’s truly stunning throughout. Furthermore, this album features more overdubs than the first, yet was still recorded on two tracks, making the demixing even more worthwhile.

　Among them, the one that can be called the symbol of this Demix is ”All My Loving.” This song was also officially realized by Demix on the “Red Album,” but even here, Ringo’s drums were unnatural and shaky, which could be said to be the dilemma of the 2023 “Red Album” Demix, and the separation of the entire performance was particularly lacking, even among the “Red Album” Demix tracks.

　In this respect, the Demix on Lord Reith is on another level. Ringo’s natural drumming is undeniable, and the separation of the entire performance is incomparable to the “Red Album.” Recent research has revealed that during recording, John played triple rhythm guitar on a Rickenbacker, while George played acoustic guitar. You can actually hear that acoustic guitar on this Demix! The electric parts, including that memorable interlude, were also added through overdubbing, a process unique to this album’s sessions.

　This single track alone is enough to make this new “With the Beatles” mix a success, but tracks like “Don’t Bother Me,” which are fleshed out with overdubs unique to this album, don’t just sound separate, but are powerfully played. Even overdubs like the piano on “Little Child” and the organ on “I Wanna Be Your Man” are surprising, making you wonder, “Was that how they played it?”

　Furthermore, “She Loves You” is the most difficult recording from 1963 due to the loss of the session tapes. This song also attracted attention when it was officially demixed on the “Red Disc” and the finished product was not bad among the demixes on that disc. However, the passage of nearly two years and technological advances have mercilessly produced a stereo version of “She Loves You” that easily surpasses the finish on the “Red Disc.” The level of perfection is so high that it’s easy to be fooled into thinking, “Have the session tapes finally been unearthed?”

　In addition to the excellent demixing of “WITH THE BEATLES” as a whole, the extremely vivid and over-the-top stereo of “She Loves You” is one of the highlights of this release. When listening to this demixing with headphones, you can enjoy the details of the stereo separation in great detail, but it’s so beautifully finished that even when played through speakers, you can fully enjoy the momentum of the powerful performance.

　The second disc also compiles the session recordings. It also showcases impressive separation techniques and close-ups of the conversations between takes. It also introduces new experiments, such as overlaying the finished performance on Take 7 of “It Won’t Be Long,” which only had a speaker recording. While the sound quality is a bit off, the meticulous combination is impressive.

　In the second half, like Demix on “PLEASE PLEASE ME,” the recording is recreated in its pre-overdubbing state. It’s refreshing to see the Beatles’ performances of “You Really Got A Hold On Me” and “Money” unfold before George Martin added the piano. And yet, the natural finish is truly astonishing.

　The highlight is “Hold Me Tight,” which neatly removes Paul’s lead vocals and lets you hear only the instrumentation. John’s beautiful backing vocals pop up here and are mesmerizing. This is also an impressive demix that shows off Lord Reith’s outstanding skills. Hats off to the brilliant finish that surpasses even the “red album”!
