EUROPEAN RELEASE – 1 LP “What’s The New Mary Jane” is an experimental song by The Beatles, composed by John Lennon but also credited, by convention, to Paul McCartney, and considered for inclusion on the “White Album” (1968) but never officially released until the release of “Anthology 3” in 1996. This unofficial LP pressed in a limited edition on clear vinyl features several versions in demo form (including the first acoustic demo recorded at George Harrison’s home in Esher), alternate takes and different stereo mixes in addition to the “official” one fixed on tape on 14 August 1968 with George Martin producing after three further takes by Lennon (lead vocals, piano, tambourine and effects), Harrison (vocals, acoustic guitar, percussion and effects), Yoko Ono (vocals, percussion and effects) and Mal Evans (bell and effects).
