“Blow Up Hollywood At The Hollywood Bowl 1964” (DFSM-008)
(â—†Contents = Hollywood Bowl performance on August 23, 1964 â—†Sound Source = Original Demix Soundboard Source (Stereo + Mono) â—†Specifications = Limited Press CD, Paper Jacket, Japanese Band Included)
The classic recording of the Hollywood Bowl performance on August 23, 1964, is presented with an intense sound that sets it apart from any other recording available to date! This is the third installment in the highly popular Original Demix & Remaster series supervised by the XAVEL label.
Promotional activities held in February of that year solidified the band’s popularity in North America, and the band’s long-awaited first North American tour, which took place over a month from August to September, was the perfect start. This performance, capturing the early stages of the tour that premiered on the West Coast, is renowned for its splendor and its remarkable quality. Considering the intense schedule of that year’s North American tour, which spanned 24 cities and 32 shows in roughly one month, it is rightly considered a highlight of the 1964 North American tour. The best-known
master recording of this historic Hollywood Bowl debut has been demixed using the latest AI technology in 2024. The separated tracks—vocals, chorus, guitar, bass, and drums—have been reconstructed into stunningly balanced stereo and richly saturated mono sound. Further meticulous remastering has refined every detail of the sound to the utmost—all under the supervision of the XAVEL label. This is the completely original “1964 Hollywood Bowl Live.”
While many stereo soundboard recordings available to date are worthy of appreciation, they often lack the midrange, resulting in a narrow sound range, perhaps due to mixes based on the audio playback equipment of the 1960s. This release features demixed tracks, each separated by a separate instrument, and optimally remastered to fit modern audio equipment, resulting in a superb sound (available in both stereo and mono) that boasts rich harmonic overtones and an overwhelming range.
The first 30 minutes are a stereo recording boasting astonishing separation and positioning of each part, making it hard to believe it was recorded live over half a century ago. The second 30 minutes are a mono recording with a vintage feel, featuring a stunning mass of mid- and low-frequency sounds (listen at full volume on speakers, not headphones!). The superb sound, on a completely different level from any (demixed) stereo or mono recording available to date, will take your breath away. This tear-jerking title vividly brings to life the image of the four band members first arriving at the Hollywood Bowl, an open-air live venue offering superb acoustics with virtually no sound leakage under the piercing blue California sky! In an era without IEMs (in-ear monitors), the thunderous cheers of Beatlemaniacs, and the fact that they could barely hear their own performance due to their bracing, it’s truly astonishing to see them deliver such flawless vocals and performance. This is the definitive edition of the 1964 US tour that rocked North America.
Limited press CD, paper jacket, and Japanese obi included.

“Goodbye Hollywood At The Hollywood Bowl 1965” (DFSM-009)
(â—†Contents = Hollywood Bowl Performances, August 29th & 30th, 1965 â—†Sound Source = Original Demix Soundboard Source (Stereo + Mono) â—†Specifications = Limited Press CD, Paper Jacket, Japanese Band Included) The
classic Hollywood Bowl performances on August 29th & 30th, 1965, are presented with an intense sound that sets them apart from any other recordings available to date! This is the fourth installment in the highly acclaimed Original Demix & Remaster series supervised by the XAVEL label.
Following on from the previous year, The Beatles’ 1965 US tour crossed North America in midsummer. This year’s tour took the opposite direction from the previous year, kicking off on the East Coast and concluding on the West Coast. Compared to the previous year, the tour also featured 16 shows in 10 cities over a roughly two-week period, a more subdued performance than the previous year. Furthermore, after moving to the West Coast, the band took a week’s rest period after finishing their show in Portland, allowing them to fully recharge and deliver a powerful performance at the Hollywood Bowl. Despite a vocal microphone disconnection issue during the first night (August 29th), this performance remains a renowned culmination of the 1965 North American tour, both in terms of performance content and sound quality.
This time, the best-known existing master recording of this historic Hollywood Bowl concert was demixed using the latest AI technology in 2024. Separated materials—vocals, chorus, guitar, bass, and drums—were reconstructed into stunningly balanced stereo and rich mono sound. Further meticulous remastering refined every detail to the utmost—all of this work, supervised by the XAVEL label, is a completely original “1965 Hollywood Bowl Live” recording. While
many stereo soundboard recordings available to date have been worthy of appreciation, one disappointment is that, perhaps due to mixes designed with the audio playback equipment of the 1960s in mind, the tones of all instruments tend to be narrow and biased toward the midrange. Furthermore, it is undeniable that the spatial effects applied to the vocals made the essential vocals sound somewhat scattered. To address these issues and reach even greater heights, this release features optimal remastering of each instrumental track, separated by demixing. The vocals are sharply focused, rich in harmonic overtones, and boast an overwhelming range, resulting in a truly exquisite sound (available in both stereo and mono). The
first 30 minutes of the album are stereo, boasting incredible separation and positioning of each part, making it hard to believe they were recorded live over half a century ago. The second 30 minutes are mono, boasting a vintage feel and a powerful, immersive mid- and low-range sound (listen at full volume on speakers, not headphones!). The superb sound, on a completely different level from any (demixed) stereo or mono source available to date, will take your breath away. This tear-jerking album vividly relives the four band members rocking the Hollywood Bowl, an open-air venue offering superb acoustics with virtually no sound leakage under the piercing blue California sky. This definitive edition of the 1965 US tour captures the miraculous moment of their dynamic live performance, bringing hope to the world during a time of turmoil marked by the enactment of the Civil Rights Act and the escalating Vietnam War. This limited edition 2 -CD set
features a paper jacket and Japanese obi strip.
