Description
Two masterpiece studio albums by the Allman Brothers Band, produced during the lifetime of Duane Allman, the guitar god whom Clapton also admired, are once again transferred cleanly from a miraculous premium item that is the first of the first editions, consisting of the US original, a “Promotional Copy” pressed earlier than general distribution, made at the label’s main plant, Presswell, and a complete first matrix “A/B”! This is the second album, in which the band’s sound has evolved significantly from the debut album! With the strongest pressing and the best condition, we deliver the freshest sound quality of the master tapes!
The second album, the masterpiece “IDLEWILD SOUTH,” which established the Allman Brothers’ “Southern Rock,” will also be released on CD from a mega-rare promo copy! Naturally, a promo copy was made for this album at the label’s main plant, Presswell in New Jersey. In fact, it’s extremely difficult to get hold of a promo copy of this album. It certainly sold better than the first album, but it’s still like comparing two chestnuts.
This means that it is extremely difficult to obtain a mint condition promo copy of this title. It is extremely difficult to find a copy in decent condition on the second-hand market, and when it is released on the market, it is common to hear a storm of crackling noises when you try to play it. This is even more difficult than the normal original copy, and this first-edition promo copy is even more difficult. In the midst of all this, “IDLEWILD SOUTH” is a miraculous release that has achieved a precise transfer based on a mint condition promo copy (naturally pressed at the label’s main plant, the Presswell plant, and the matrix is the “A/B” first-edition copy of this work!).
As you know, IDLEWILD SOUTH has made a big leap from the rough sound of the debut album to a sophisticated sound that is impressive. The opening song “Revival” and one of the masterpieces of this album, “Midnight Rider”, are particularly impressive songs with extremely impressive acoustic arrangements. Therefore, these two songs, which have many quiet parts, tend to have very noticeable scratch noise on analog LPs. In fact, there may be many people who have continued to listen to them while putting up with that noise. This time, too, the transfer is amazingly super clean. After all, from the intro of the opening song “Revival”, no scratch noise can be heard at all, no matter how loud you turn up the volume!
And yet the sound quality itself is so fresh and natural. If you compare these two acoustic songs, the difference in sound quality from the current remastered CD is overwhelmingly clear. Not only are they clear and natural, but you can also clearly feel the “airiness” that these two songs exude. This feeling of airiness is completely different from the current CD. You will surely be amazed and wonder if this is the original sound of the master tape engraved in 1970.
And the difference is clear even in “In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed,” the greatest song on “IDLEWILD SOUTH.” Certainly, the current remastered CD technology is compatible with the Allmans’ performance, just like the first album, and conveys the power appropriate for the CD era. However, the promo version from 1970 goes even further with its exquisite clarity and naturalness. I would recommend turning up the volume to feel the realism, as if you were witnessing the Allmans’ performance in the recording studio. The difference is just too big.
This is the group’s second masterpiece album, which marked a big leap forward before the rare masterpiece “AT FILLMORE EAST”. Once again, they have succeeded in capturing the realistic sound that could only be experienced in 1970 in an amazingly clear state. Be overwhelmed by the naturalness of the original promo version of the beloved “Midnight Rider” and “In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed”, which can never be experienced with current remasters! We promise you the best listening experience with the best sound quality!
By collecting these three titles, along with the simultaneously released “THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND: US ORIGINAL GENUINE FIRST PRESSING PROMO COPY EDITION – “PRESSWELL PRESSING & MAT A/A” and the already hugely popular “AT FILLMORE EAST: US ORIGINAL GENUINE FIRST PRESSING PROMO DJ COPY EDITION – PRESSWELL PRESSING & ALL MAT C/C/C/C”, you will have three historic masterpieces from the golden age of the Allman Brothers Band during Duane Allman’s lifetime at your fingertips in the best sound quality!
