Description

★The greatest live masterpiece in rock history, “AT FILLMORE EAST”. All reissues are silent before this one! This is a clean transfer of a miraculous premium item that is the first of the first editions, consisting of the 1971 US original, a “Promotional DJ Copy” pressed earlier than general distribution, made at the label’s main plant, Presswell factory, and a full first matrix “C” on all sides! With the strongest pressing and the best condition, we deliver the highest sound quality with the freshest master tape and the “true Fillmore experience”!
“AT FILLMORE EAST” is not only the Allman Brothers Band’s masterpiece, but also the most glorious historical live album produced by American rock in the 1970s. Even if you’re not an Allman Brothers Band fanatic, there are probably many people who own this live album! In fact, because it is such a masterpiece, it has been reissued in various forms up to the present day, and especially since the 1990s, when the CD era began, expanded versions, remix versions, and even sets that compile the live performances recorded for this album have been released.
On the other hand, the album itself was released in high-quality formats on both CD and LP, but because it sold so well and was repeatedly reissued, the master tape was inevitably degraded. In recent years, the items have been remixed to get around this, but this was also proof that it was no longer possible to fully reproduce the original mix and sound quality.
In that respect, it was the original LP from 1971 that captured the original sound and clear sound quality. Of course, in the current age of analog revival, the original LP of “AT FILLMORE EAST” has become a very popular item, but what is even rarer is the so-called “Promotional DJ Copy” that was pressed for American radio stations, which were at the height of their popularity at the time, prior to the release of the album.
Since this is an item that was not intended for general distribution, and is a genuine first pressing made even earlier than the pressings of records for general distribution, it is highly popular among record enthusiasts and is guaranteed to have good sound quality. In reality, it is extremely difficult to obtain this, and if it is a version in good condition, it is even more difficult…or perhaps you could say it is too difficult.
Not to mention the beginning of “In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed,” the long “You Don’t Love Me” and the latter half of “Whipping Post” feature solo performances by Duane and Dickey, and there are many quiet parts without any accompaniment. It is a difficult task to play them clearly on a vintage LP.
What’s more, what we have acquired this time is not just a “Promotional DJ Copy”! This is a “Promotional DJ Copy” made at Presswell, the main plant of ATLANTIC Label, the parent company of CAPRICORN Label, which was under contract with the Allman Brothers Band at the time, and which sent the freshest master tapes out of the various record pressing plants that the company had across the US! What’s more, the matrix, familiar to record enthusiasts, is all “C” on sides 1 to 4, which is proof that this is the first US pressing of this work! In other words, the title of this release comes from
â‘  US original
â‘¡ DJ promo pressings pressed even earlier than general distribution
â‘¢ Pressed at Presswell, the main plant for the ATLANTIC label, where master tapes are sent the earliest
â‘£ All matrix marks on the disc surface are “C”, proving they are first pressings
So, even among the original US versions, which have the freshest sound, this is an early pressing that has taken the sound quality one step further! At this point, it’s not just a premium item!
Based on this mega-rare DJ promo LP in excellent condition, we have carried out a thorough clean transfer. Even when listening to it with headphones at high volume, you will be amazed at how clear it is, with not a single scratch sound being heard. Of course, no matter how hard you try, there will always be scratch noise in the original vintage LP, but we have cleanly removed the noise without compromising the sound quality. We guarantee that you will be able to listen to it with peace of mind until the very end.
And above all, the sound quality is astonishing! The natural clarity and power truly give a sense of freshness! This alone puts it on a completely different level from current CDs. Even the Mobile Fidelity version, which was very well received as a free gift CD-R, is completely useless in comparison to the fresh sound quality of this release. After all, it cannot compare to the freshness of the first edition Matrix DJ promo version, which was quickly pressed at the main plant’s Presswell factory from the master tape in 1971.
The difference is so clear that it’s almost laughable, even from the opening “Statesboro Blues,” which many enthusiasts have listened to countless times. Both the clarity and fullness that jump out from the master tape in 1971 come so naturally. Here is a sound quality that no digital remastering technology in the CD era can match, no matter how hard they try! This is a shocking release that allows you to easily listen to the original sound of the extremely rare Presswell plant-made first edition matrix DJ promo LP noiselessly. This is the true Fillmore! All “AT FILLMORE EAST” will bow down before this! This is a gem that all rock fans should get!
