UPGRADE!!!
AEROSMITH, who made their name known to the world in 1973 with “Birth of the Beast.” The legendary soundboard upgrade master, which pours the early live performance into your brain, has arrived! It will be released on a permanent preservation press CD!
[A superb studio live album from their debut era]
This work is engraved with the “September 26, 1973 Cheviot performance.” It is a stereo soundboard recording. Speaking of 1973 soundboards, the press masterpiece “BOSTON 1973 (Zodiac 236),” known as the “oldest live recording,” also reigns as a major classic, but of course this work is a different performance. To organize the situation, let’s first take a bird’s-eye view of their activities at the time.
●1973
, January 4th: Boston performances
(January 5th: “Birth of the Beast” released)
– January 19th – May 5th: North America #1 (23 performances) ← *BOSTON 1973
, June 24th: Boston performances
– July 28th – December 15th: North America #2 (49 performances) ←★Here★
(December 17th: “GET YOUR WINGS” production begins)
●1974
, January 7th: Detroit performances
(January 14th: “GET YOUR WINGS” completed)
– January 26th – March 16th: North America #3 (11 performances)
(March 15th: “GET YOUR WINGS” released)
– March 24th – December 15th: North America #4 (108 performances) ←*DETROIT 1974, etc.
This is AEROSMITH in 1973/1974. They didn’t make it overseas until 1976, so at this point they were only in North America. “BOSTON 1973” was “North America # 1” immediately after their album debut, but this Cheviot performance was the 14th performance of “North America # 2” about six months later.
This performance was a live studio performance at the local station “WKRQ FM,” and was broadcast on radio (with DJ talk every few songs). It is also a classic that has produced many previously released works. This work is also the same DM sound board, but it is an upgrade master that brings the highest peak to date. It is a pre-FM master provided by an overseas researcher.
[A master sound reborn on a completely different level]
And the sound is an upgrade to something completely different. The somewhat forceful liveliness is the same because it originated from the recording, but the freshness and clarity are unmatched. The muffled roundness is quickly wiped away, and long tones stretch straight and beautifully without distortion. The delicate details, down to the vibration level of guitar strings and drum skins, are incredibly vivid, and the sense of separation unique to a soundboard is also incredible. The master freshness is comparable to that of the classic “BOSTON 1973,” and those who already own it will likely be amazed by the upgrade.
This master sound depicts the extremely rare live performance from 1973. As mentioned above, this was the time when the production of the next album, “Fly! Aerosmith,” was imminent, and it is different from “BOSTON 1973.” Let’s compare and organize it here.
●Birth of the Beast (7 songs)
・Make It / Somebody / Write Me A Letter / Dream On (★) / One Way Street / Walkin’ The Dog / Mama Kin
●Other (3 songs)
・Fly! Aerosmith: Pandora’s Box (★) / Train Kept A Rollin’
・Other: Rattlesnake Shake (★)
*Note: Songs marked with “★” are songs that could not be heard on the classic pressing “BOSTON 1973”.
This legendary soundboard, along with “BOSTON 1973,” has been a constant presence since the debut era. This is the highest-quality updated version. This press CD permanently preserves the exquisite master sound that only a researcher could know. Experience the pleasure of having the early live performance poured into your brain with this best master work.
★Stereo soundboard recording of the “Cheviot Performance on September 26, 1973.” This pre-FM master was provided by an overseas researcher, and the sound is an upgrade that sounds like something completely different. The freshness and clarity are second to none. The muffled, rounded sound is instantly wiped away, and the long tones are beautifully straight and distortion-free. This is a top-of-the-line updated album that will fill your brain with the live performance just before the production of “Fly! Aerosmith.”
