STYLUS GROOVE – LP
Description
Stylus Groove is releasing a hand-numbered, limited-edition, splatter-colored LP of a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert from November 4, 1975, at the Capitol Theatre in Cardiff, Wales, as part of the band’s legendary “Torture Tour,” which promoted the album “Nuthin’ Fancy,” released in March of that year. The arguments, pressure, incidents, and substance abuse that plagued that tour have become rock legend, leading, after the May 27 show in Pittsburgh, to the sudden departure of guitarist Ed King. Featuring just Gary Rossington and Allen Collins on guitars, Ronnie Van Zant on lead vocals, Leon Wilkeson on bass, Artimus Pyle on drums, and Billy Powell on keyboards, the Jacksonville, Florida band completed their commitments, offering audiences classics such as “Double Trouble,” “Saturday Night Special,” JJ Cale’s “Call Me The Breeze,” “Sweet Home Alabama,” and “Freebird” in this performance—officially released by Geffen Records in 2009 as “Live at the Cardiff Capitol Theatre.” Due to the unique pressing process, each vinyl features unique artwork.
