Description

Parachute Recordings is reissuing on two unofficial vinyl records the concert from David Bowie’s “Outside” tour, held on July 18, 1997, at the Phoenix Festival in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. In Shakespeare’s homeland, the English artist, accompanied by his faithful Mike Garson (piano), Reeves Gabrels (guitar) and Carlos Alomar (guitar) as well as by the singer George Simms (already present in the “Serious Moonlight Tour” of 1983), by the drummer Zachary Alford, by the bassist and singer Gail Ann Dorsey and by the musical director Peter Schwartz on synths, proposed a set in which new songs such as “The Hearts Filthy Lesson”, “The Voyeur Of Utter Destruction (As Beauty)”, “Hallo Spaceboy”, “Strangers When We Meet” and “Outside” itself (many of which written in collaboration with Brian Eno) were added to the great classics, to pieces from “Low” (“Breaking Glass”), from “Black Tie White Noise” (“Jump They Say”) and from “Earthling” (“Telling Lies”), to “Lust For Life” written with Iggy Pop and “White Light/White Heat” by the Velvet Underground.
