Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY, USA 12th November 2013 PRO-SHOT
★First-ever professional shot footage!

Port Chester, which is currently creating a huge sensation, also captured some fantastic footage of Costello’s live performance at the Capitol Theatre in 2013.

Costello was very active that year, touring with The Imposters in the first half of the year, and then releasing his album “Wind Up Ghost” in the fall, followed by a solo tour in the United States.

As part of that, two consecutive nights of performances were held in Port Chester, but the footage that was leaked this time is from the second night’s show.

Just looking at the setlist is enough to bring tears to the eyes of any fan. Because Costello is able to play freely on his own, he performs one hidden gem after another that he wouldn’t play in a live show with the Imposters.

The album opens with “King Horse,” and then continues with “Sneaky Feelings” and “After The Fall,” a fantastic selection of songs that any fan would find irresistible, saying, “These are the kinds of songs I wanted to hear!”

Similarly, in “Crimes of Paris,” a song that delights fans, Costello is so engrossed in his performance that he breaks a string on his acoustic guitar—a moment only possible on video. It was fortunate that this mishap occurred at the very end of the performance.

Furthermore, the video perfectly captures the then-popular performance of “Watching The Detective,” where he plays a guitar solo while looping his own cutting technique.

And to top it all off, he even performed classic songs from ‘IMPERIAL BEDROOM,’ such as “Beyond Belief” and “Human Hands,” in acoustic versions, which were also captured in fantastic professional footage.

After this, there was an encore, and the “Request” light at Costello’s feet was turned on, but since they had already performed a sufficiently obscure repertoire, the request corner ended in no time at all.

As you can probably tell from this alone, this live video is so substantial that it would normally be released on a pressed disc, given that it features a string of rare songs and is filmed in the highest quality professional footage.

Adding to the excitement of this already rare footage that would send fans into a frenzy, it turns out that even the public soundcheck, which doubled as a meet and greet, was filmed by a professional on-site camera!

This video was filmed from the end of the opening song “Green Shirt,” but unlike the actual performance, the lighting is subdued and the atmosphere is relaxed. Yet, they perform rare repertoire different from the main show, such as an acoustic version of “Everyday I Write The Book” and a cover of Johnny Cash’s “I Still Miss Someone.”

Despite spanning three DVDs, this is the ultimate Costello acoustic live performance, delivered with top-notch professional footage that makes you forget how long it is!
