Description
~A rare recording of a live performance held at a large indoor arena in Paris during the 1980 European tour, captured in excellent stereo audience recording quality!~ This rare recording captures a live performance
held on January 15, 1980, at Le Pavillon de Paris, Paris’s largest indoor arena with a capacity of approximately 10,000 people, during the European tour held from 1979 to 1980 to coincide with the release of their fourth album, “Heartbeat of Love.” The recording is captured in excellent stereo audience recording quality!
Digitally transferred from a low-generation master, the sound quality is clear and well-balanced for each part, including the vocals.
Furthermore, pitch deviations caused by the master have been carefully corrected.
Pat Maloney, who was Blondie’s sound engineer at the time, recalls the concert: “The venue used to be a meat processing plant, and since it was mid-January, the entire floor was covered in hard ice.
Apparently, it was also used as an ice skating rink during the winter! Anyway, all the promoter did was lay plywood on top of the ice, so all the band members were freezing.
I’m sure the band didn’t stay up for an encore after that show!”
The setlist was fantastic, featuring 11 songs, excluding one from their then-new album “Heartbeat,” and also included covers of James Brown’s classic “I Got You (I Feel Good)” and Richard Berry’s famous “Louie Louie,” known from covers by The Kingsmen and Iggy Pop.
