[Beautiful visuals that look as if you’re receiving the broadcast signals directly]
This is the overall picture of the “ALIVE/WORLDWIDE Tour” that took place in 1996/1997. The 1996 Detroit footage included in the official “KISSOLOGY” is widely known as the symbol of that time, but this Atlanta performance was about three months later. It was the 29th concert of “North America #1b”.

This film, which captures such a show, is a multi-camera professional shot filmed for a Japanese TV program, as mentioned earlier. Paul repeatedly mentions “Tokyo” during the show, hyping up the crowd, and the audience responds with thunderous applause. It’s not just a leaked screen recording from the show, but a production made with broadcasting in mind, and the diverse camerawork makes it a truly authentic concert film with a strong aesthetic.

And the master is in superb condition. It’s the best master provided by an overseas researcher, and while it undeniably has an analog feel due to being from the 90s, the colors are incredibly vibrant, and the screen is glossy and noise-free from corner to corner. It’s so beautiful that it’s as if you’ve directly received the broadcast signals from that time, transcending space and time, and the four members in their makeup, as well as the flashy pyro and lighting, all shine brilliantly.

[A full show with plenty of songs not found in the official Detroit footage]
This beautiful pro-shot footage depicts the glorious full show of the reunion KISS, who won the big gamble of remaking their music.
The set is different from the official Detroit footage in “KISSOLOGY,” so let’s compare and organize it here.

●KISS (6 songs)
・Deuce/Cold Gin/Firehouse/Strutter/100,000 Years/Black Diamond (★)
●DESTROYER (6 songs)
・King Of the Night Time World/Do You Love Me?/Shout It Out Loud/God of Thunder/Detroit Rock City (★)/Beth (★)
●Others (3 songs + 5 songs)
・LOVE GUN: I Stole Your Love (★)/Shock Me/Love Gun
・Others: Calling Dr. Love/Watchin’ You/Let Me Go, Rock ‘N’ Roll/New York Groove (★)/Rock And Roll All Nite
*Note: Songs marked with “★” are not included in the official 1996 Detroit footage in “KISSOLOGY.”

…and so on. This full show is a comprehensive overview of the 70s, centered around the two albums “KISS” and “DESTROYER.” It’s truly a “visual greatest hits album” and a “moving greatest hits” compilation. Particularly valuable is “I Stole Your Love.” Not only is it not included in the official Detroit footage, but it’s also a special track that can’t be seen in the excellent pro-shot footage of the “ALIVE/WORLDWIDE Tour,” such as “GET SAVAGE: TOLEDO 1997,” “ROCK AM RING 1997,” and “COLUMBUS 1997.”

[Special inclusion of a KISS report segment from a Japanese TV program]
While the full show alone is enough to fill your heart, this release also includes special pro-shot footage that will leave you wanting more. It’s a backstage report filmed at the “Hampton concert on October 4, 1996,” three days before the main show. At the time, the announcement of their Japan tour had just been made, and special KISS segments were created on Japanese music programs.

The segment features a female announcer from a certain commercial TV station sneaking into a dressing room. It’s a full-on Japanese music variety show, with appearances by a big-name celebrity known for wearing sunglasses and the leader of a band that became popular with viewers through their early morning heavy metal shows. The segment concludes with the announcer saying, “Now, KISS will sing,” before seamlessly transitioning into the full, professionally shot main feature. Although the actual recording took place on a different day, it’s included before the live footage, perhaps to create a suitable atmosphere for the prelude to the concert.

With all four original members reunited and returning to their full makeup looks, KISS faced a huge gamble: would it be a legendary comeback, or would they be reduced to a laughingstock? They triumphed. This film is a superb pro-shot that captures that moment in their heyday with authentic multi-camera footage from Nippon TV. Please enjoy it to the fullest.

★ This is a multi-camera pro-shot of the Atlanta concert on October 1, 1996. A special performance for a Nippon TV program, this is a full-fledged concert film with delicious and diverse camerawork. The image quality of the best master selected by overseas researchers is superb, and you can also enjoy the rare performance of “I Stole Your Love.” This is the new standard for the “ALIVE/WORLDWIDE Tour,” which even includes behind-the-scenes reports from the Nippon TV program.
