Description

Considered by fans and traders to be one of the finest concerts available from Genesis’ “Lamb Tour” (both for the quality of the soundboard recording and for what some experts consider to be the finest live performance of “The Waiting Room” ever), the show that took place on April 19, 1975, at Liverpool’s Empire Theatre is being reissued on an unofficial double CD on the Gossip label. In addition to performing the double concept album in its entirety, as always, Peter Gabriel (lead vocals and flute), Tony Banks (keyboards, synthesizers, and backing vocals), Steve Hackett (acoustic and electric guitars), Mike Rutherford (bass, pedals, 12-string guitar, and backing vocals), and Phil Collins (drums, percussion, vibraphone, and vocals) perform “The Knife” in the encore, which is occasionally featured after “The Musical Box” (not included here) and in place of the more frequent “Watcher Of The Skies.”
