In 1965, after a successful stadium tour including Shea Stadium, The Beatles retreated to Abbey Road Studios to complete their masterpiece “Rubber Soul,” leveraging new recording techniques. They
faced a last-minute challenge with no new songs in stock.
However, being able to focus solely on studio work for about a month awakened their creative potential, resulting in
one masterpiece after another. Realizing the value of being able to immerse themselves in recording, The Beatles’ focus shifted from live performances to studio work.

This release thoroughly covers alternate versions, mixes, outtakes, and related tracks from the classic “Rubber Soul,” a turning point for The Beatles.
This expanded edition of the popular “Rubber Soul Sessions” is now available in a new, tall-case DVD digipak (2CD).
“Drive My Car” is a rocking number incorporating the dark rhythms of Motown.
Several takes of “Norwegian Wood,” featuring sitar, are included, including behind-the-scenes footage.
The arrangement solidified over the days, including key changes. “Michelle” features a long ending and a vibrant acoustic guitar sound.

Unlike the “Anthology” release, take 1 of “I’m Looking Through You” is the complete, unedited version.
This is a rare take, showcasing John’s love for soul music in the shouts at the end.
Another gem is “Run For Your Life,” featuring two more shouts from John at the end.
Recorded around the same time, “Day Tripper” and “We Can Work It Out” are both original singles, and fans will be intrigued by the variety of versions, including basic tracks recorded by the four members before the vocals were added.
Also included are John, Paul, and George practicing their choruses, and George Martin experimenting with the organ interlude of “In My Life.”
The unreleased instrumental track “12-Bar Original,” originally recorded for this album with the aim of emulating Booker T. & the MGs, is included in its full, extended version, a feature not available on the official release. Rubber
