The “Collected Broadcasts” quintuple box set series, published by Expensive Woodland Recordings and drawing on previously unprotected radio and television material, includes a volume dedicated to David Bowie. The program opens with the classic “Live at Santa Monica 1972,” recorded during the Ziggy Stardust Tour with Mick Ronson (lead guitar and backing vocals), Trevor Bolder (bass), Mick “Woody” Woodmansey (drums), and Mike Garson (keyboards), and continues with some historic collaborations: first, a performance at Chicago’s Mantra Studios in 1977, in which Iggy Pop (who was then produced by Bowie on the albums “The Idiot” and “Lust For Life”) headlined a performance that also included the song “China Girl,” which the English artist would include six years later on the album “Let’s Dance.” then with Trent Reznor’s Nine Inch Nails, partner in a date of the “Outside Tour” (1995) which occupies the third and fourth CD while the fifth reproduces a show of the “Earthling Tour” of 1997, as a testimony of a decade in which Bowie was fascinated by the new frontiers of electronic music, industrial, jungle and drum’n’bass without forgetting to propose his immortal classics live.
