[The Rare Best Recording of “Into the Void/After Forever”]
This is the 1970/1971 BLACK SABBATH album. While 1971 is often considered the “Year of Master of Reality,” this album was still part of the “PARANOID Tour.” It was the fifth performance of “Europe #4.” The timing is crucial, as the band begins to play the “Master of Reality” tracks, even though they’re still unfinished. These are the extremely rare tracks “Into the Void” and “After Forever.” While both tracks were performed numerous times after the band’s reunion, they were only seen a handful of times in the 1970s (specifically, five times for “Into the Void” and three times for “After Forever”). Furthermore, these are early versions of the tentative lyrics.

And this work is the best recording of both songs… or should I say, it is the strongest recording of the “PARANOID Tour” even if you ignore the rare songs. In fact, the on-time power is unparalleled, and the vocals and performance jump into your ears without any sense of distance. Moreover, there is no over-peak or rough feeling that is common in customer records at that time.
[Upgraded sound achieved through meticulous mastering]
Despite this renowned recording, there’s a reason we haven’t stocked it in our shop until now. The battery ran out toward the end of the live performance. This wasn’t due to dubbing or tape deterioration, but rather a problem that occurred during recording. The sound started to crease around “Wicked World,” and became dramatically distorted on “Fairies Wear Boots” and “Paranoid.” While the sound was too good for a CDR release, it had fatal flaws for permanent preservation. This dilemma prevented us from deciding on a release format.

This latest release is a pinnacle update that finally overcomes those long-standing shortcomings. Graf Zeppelin’s mastering thoroughly corrected any distortion, achieving a level of perfection worthy of a permanently archived CD press. Those familiar with the previous masters will be amazed at its sheer quality. “Wicked World” is stable, as if there was no distortion from the start, and the once-unbearable “Fairies Wear Boots” and “Paranoid” are transformed into something completely different. While you may still notice some distortion, the only way to achieve even greater precision is to create it from scratch using generative AI… This is the ultimate modern finish.
