The Art Of Vinyl is releasing a limited edition (500 numbered copies) unofficial red and black LP of the radio recording of a concert The Cure gave on November 16, 1984, at the Ontario Theater in Washington DC, during the promotional tour for their album “The Top.” Robert Smith (vocals and guitar), Lol Tolhurst (keyboards), Porl Thompson (guitar and saxophone), Phil Thornalley (bass), and Vince Ely (who had recently replaced Andy Anderson on drums) perform a set that includes “The Caterpillar” from the new album, alongside “The Hanging Garden” from the previous album “Pornography,” singles like “Charlotte Sometimes,” “The Walk,” “Let’s Go To Bed,” and “Boys Don’t Cry,” as well as early classics like “Secrets,” “10:15 Saturday Night,” “Three Imaginary Boys,” and the rousing “A Forest.”
