Description
Released on the Pigs On The Groove label and pressed on (unofficial) colored vinyl in a limited edition, this LP reproduces one of the two shows Depeche Mode played on July 23, 1981 (keyboardist and guitarist Martin Gorre’s twentieth birthday) at The Venue in London to a sold-out crowd after the huge success of their debut single “New Life.” The song is obviously part of the set, along with other songs released the following month on their debut album “Speak & Spell,” such as “Operator,” “Pretty Boy” (renamed “Puppets” and “What’s Your Name?” respectively), “Boys Say Go!”, “Tora! Tora! Tora!”, “Photographic”, the instrumental “Big Muff” and the future hit “Just Can’t Get Enough”, the band’s third single written by Vince Clark before saying goodbye to Gore, Dave Gahan and Andy Fletcher while the concert closed with the group’s previous 45 rpm “Dreaming Of Me”
