Description
Live at Music Hall, Boston, MA, USA 28th March 1978 STEREO SBD
Taken from WBCN FM Broadcast 10.5″ Reel Master
There are many soundboards called “Complete LIVE! BOOTLEG,” but this iconic work that stands at the top of the list has been brushed up. This is the ultimate album in which “GRAF ZEPPELIN” once again challenges the “ultimate sound.”
This album, an absolute masterpiece known as the “Real LIVE! BOOTLEG,”
permanently preserves the “March 28, 1978 Boston performance.” It’s a stereo soundboard recording. The traditional “LIVE! BOOTLEG” album is a compilation of various live performances, but our store has archived the original soundboard as the best master. This album reigns supreme in that collection. This is a good opportunity to look back at the schedule from that time and take a look at the collection of masterpieces also known as “Real LIVE! BOOTLEG.”

Now, this is the masterpiece of the “LIVE! BOOTLEG Original Source” collection. The reason for this is undoubtedly the sound, which is at the pinnacle of excellence in every conceivable aspect, from origin to finish. First of all, the original source is a “broadcast station master reel,” which was digitized by “Krw_co,” a prestigious company in the modern collector’s world. It has been mastered by our shop’s “GRAF ZEPPELIN mastering.”
[A remastered version that takes modern audio environments into consideration]
Dedicated collectors may recall “DEFINITIVE BOSTON 1978 (Zodiac 528),” but this work is similar but not identical. The above techniques are exactly the same, but this one has been remastered by “GRAF ZEPPELIN.” While the previous “Zodiac 528” album had already achieved meticulous restoration, this one has been further optimized for modern audio environments. To put it simply, while the concept of the previous version was to “restore the original broadcast,” this one aims to “create the feel of a modern live CD.”

However, since all audio-related shortcomings were resolved in the previous version, it’s not like it’s been transformed into something completely different. Frankly speaking, it feels like the sound pressure has increased, making it more powerful and giving it a more three-dimensional feel. However, this is not a case of simply increasing the sound pressure. The ensemble and recording conditions were meticulously checked, and the performance sound was meticulously processed to prevent even the slightest distortion. It has been meticulously adjusted to create a sense of uniformity in each song, instrument, and section.
The full show that has been loved as “Complete Edition LIVE! BOOTLEG” is drawn with the ultimate sound that pursues such a sense of work. I think it’s already familiar, but let’s organize it at the end.

The previous album, “Zodiac 528,” was already the ultimate in accurately reproducing the “1978 performance,” but this time it’s an updated version that emphasizes “listening in 2025.” Of course, it’s also an absolute must-have for anyone experiencing this sound source for the first time.
