Live at Civic Centre, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada 14th April 1970 TRULY PERFECT SOUND

UPGRADE!!! ★The content and sound quality are amazing!!
During ZEP’s first US tour in 1970, the Ottawa performance on April 14th was a live recording worthy of being called a “hidden masterpiece.” The incomplete recording caused few items to be released, and in fact, it tends to be overlooked by non-enthusiasts. However, the sound source itself is a very easy-to-listen-to audience recording, and it is reassuring that it is a hidden masterpiece from the 1970s.
In fact, when this sound source was first released, it became a hot topic due to its ease of listening. It is a 5-CD set “THE TRADE MARK OF QUALITY MASTERS VOLUME ONE” box. When it was first released here, it was the first sound source to appear, and the sound quality was also good, so it had enough impact to surprise enthusiasts.
Also, the TMOQ box version had the tracks swapped at the time of release, and it was refreshing to see the opening start with the intro “Heartbreaker” which began with Jimmy’s production using a delay echo. Now, many items have been released, and it has become clear that this unique intro was an attempt unique to this tour, but at the time it was very surprising.
Since then, not many items have been released, and as a result, it has become a sound source for the first American tour of 1970, which has now been overlooked. However, even listening to it again, the sound quality is surprisingly good. In particular, the sound images of “Dazed And Confused” and “Whole Lotta Love” are so close that it almost seems like a soundboard broadcast on AM radio. And yet, the quiet surroundings also contribute to ease of listening. It makes sense that this live performance in the TMOQ box was named “Parliament Hill,” a parody of Blueberry Hill.
Needless to say, GRAF ZEPPELIN carefully reviewed these hidden gems and recorded them from the master. The difference in sound quality is clear compared to previous releases, and compared to this version, the TMOQ box and the most recent releases, “JUST THE CROWD AND…,” which recorded the songs in the correct order, were generally in a state of genealogical decline via analog dubbing. While those releases were easy enough to listen to, this stunning upgrade truly removes any muddiness or film from the sound.
There is no sound distortion or low-frequency noise that occurred due to the drop in the generativity of past items. Although the original recording was surprisingly easy to hear, a considerable amount of time has passed since the past release, so most enthusiasts will be surprised by the ease of listening to this release.
In the spring of 1970, there was a classic soundboard called Vancouver “Pb” on the first day of the tour in the United States, but Ottawa was a recording of the final stage of the tour and had such good sound quality that it could be mistaken for a radio broadcast. And because it was a live performance in the same Canada, it is a wonderful pairing with “Pb”.
The bonus recording includes a recently unearthed recording of the Helsinki performance from the same year. As you know, the definitive “TOCCATA AND FUGUE: HELSINKI 1970” supervised by “GRAF ZEPPELIN” is still fresh in our minds today, but the recording included here is a completely different audience recording. This one has a distant sound image, but compared to that, Jimmy’s sound is surprisingly easy to listen to, without any extreme balance. Moreover, the freshness is so good that it’s a shame that only two songs are available (this is probably all that remains).
The 1970 Ottawa tour, which captured the experimental spirit of the time, including the famous “Heartbreaker” intro, with a very good sound image, has received a surprising upgrade. Even non-enthusiasts will be able to fully enjoy the clean and clear sound quality. The 1970 American tour’s elite audience, which had been literally overlooked, has been reborn by “GRAF ZEPPELIN.” Seeing is believing!
REMASTERED BY GRAF ZEPPELIN
★The latest remaster of the digital copy from the master!
This latest remaster has been deliberately not monolithic. It has a pseudo-stereo texture, but is differentiated from previous releases.
★Bonus: Two separate sources from the Helsinki performance, which first appeared in recent years!
Although it is a first appearance, there are only two songs (Thank You splits the organ solo into three tracks), but
currently only these two songs are available, but this is a valuable first recording!
