Hammersmith Odeon, London, England 16th May 1976 TRULY PERFECT SOUND
KISS’s first European tour, which was a special event even during the 1970s original era. The legendary recording that has been passed down from that moment on is now reprinted.
This work is recorded from the “London performance on May 16, 1976”. It is a legendary audience recording recorded at the famous venue “Hammersmith Odeon”. KISS has focused on their home country throughout their career, but especially in the 1970s. In May 1980, Peter Criss left the band and the original members fell apart, but let’s take a look at the overseas tours that had been carried out up until then.

This is an overseas performance in the 1970s. KISS performed about 580 shows in their golden age, of which only 32 were overseas performances. Still, there were 15 performances in one country in Japan, but only 17 performances in Europe in eight countries. You can understand how rare the tour was. Moreover, it is not only rare but also known for having many famous recordings. Usually, the more performances there are, the more masterpieces there are, but the “European” tour of the 1970s is an exception. Perhaps that is why recorders in various places were waiting for KISS. Anyway, we have archived as many masterpieces as possible at our shop, so let’s organize our collection by focusing on the dates here.

The London performance (day 2) has long been known as a famous recording, and the LP bootleg “BLITZ LONDON (IMP 1120)” in particular has been passed down as a legendary masterpiece. This work digitizes such a legendary recording from a mint quality board. It is a CD of the highest quality.
In fact, the sound is extremely clear and fresh. It is not the type that can be mistaken for a sound board like “PARIS 1976 (Zodiac 651)”, which has also symbolized the European tour with a long history, but it is not far away. While the tone is engraved with the likeness of the audience, the strength of the core is considerable, and the performance sound and vocals approach the ears. There is no cloudiness or turbidity in the hall sound, the outline is clearly cut, and even the fine details are very clear. In particular, Ace’s guitar has a strong sense of close contact as if it were a line recording.
This is a great recording that should have been pressed, but unfortunately it is incomplete because it is only a single analog disc. From the set at that time, it seems that the bass/drum solos and “100,000 Years”, “Rock and Roll All Nite”, and “Let Me Go, Rock and Roll” are not included. Unfortunately, the overall score is not as good as other pressings, but the passionate live performance that traveled all the way to Europe and the enthusiasm of the welcoming audience are beautifully engraved in this work.
Why is “KISS in Europe in 1976” so special? This is a CD version of the storyteller LP “BLITZ LONDON” that has been spreading the word about it for a long time. The legendary sound that remains in the history of KISS recordings. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience it.
