Following the highly acclaimed “AT FILLMORE EAST: US ORIGINAL GENUINE FIRST PRESSING PROMO DJ COPY EDITION – PRESSWELL PRESSING & ALL MAT C/C/C/C,” which is a remaster of the Allman Brothers Band’s timeless live album, with a different dimension from the current remaster and the rich sound quality of the original master tapes, this week we will be carefully reissuing the first two Allmans studio albums released while Duane Allman was still alive, from the same mega-rare promo copies (of course, pressed at the label’s main factory, the Presswell plant, and the matrix is also the first press!).

First of all, their first album “THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND”. It’s an album with a rough atmosphere and a straightforward sound that seems to capture the momentum of the band at that time, but unlike their works from their second album onwards, it didn’t sell very well when it was first released. Therefore, the hurdle to get the original LP is high, and if it’s a promotional version before the general release, it’s even more difficult.

The fact that such a promo disc was made into a CD guarantees a groundbreaking release, but another hurdle is the condition of the disc. It is really difficult to find a good condition version of the original album released in 1969. After all, it was an album that didn’t sell well at the time. If it’s a promo disc, it’s almost impossible.

Based on the mint condition of this literally mega rare promo copy, we have once again carried out a meticulous transfer. The CD has been made in such a clean state that it is hard to believe that the original was a vintage 1969 LP. Even enthusiasts who own the original version of this album will never be able to listen to it in such a clear state.

The best example of this is the ending of “It’s Not My Cross To Bear,” which fades out and then fades back in again. No matter how hard you try, this part is bound to be plagued by scratch noise, and even just looking at that part alone will give you an idea of how outstanding the CD version is.

The sound quality itself is very natural. Especially when it is the original US promo and the first pressing. Albums by large rock bands like Allman are compatible with the current remastering and actually have a powerful finish. However, the clear persuasiveness of the promo version pressed at the Presswell plant, the main plant in New Jersey, engraved using fresh master tapes from 1969, is overwhelming!

This super clear transfer brings back to life the charm of the first album, such as Greg’s wild singing throughout the album, before he learned the laid back singing style of the second album, and Duane’s playing with its psychedelic tone. Even the quiet performance of “Dreams,” which is prone to scratch noise, can be enjoyed with super clear and natural sound quality until the very end. The opening song, “Don’t Want You No More,” feels so different from the current remastered CD that it’s easy to mistake it for a different mix.
