It was May 27, 1995 when two prominent names, the already veteran Paul Rodgers and the younger Jeff Healey, performed at the Palace Theatre in Sao Paulo, Brazil, as part of the Nescafé Blues Festival. The setlists of both were rich in covers and famous pieces: the late Canadian guitarist opened his set with “I Got A Line On You” by Spirit, including classics by Robert Johnson, Stealers Wheel, Jimi Hendrix and the Doors; the Anglo-Canadian singer included a couple of blues standards and for the rest he relied on the repertoire of Bad Company and Free. The unofficial CD on the Rockin’ Bear Records label recovers the recording of this historic “double bill” from the radio broadcast thirty years ago.
