Description
Limited edition pressing by Verne Records and recorded in mono, this bootleg LP documents, as the title suggests, the Beatles’ first promotional visit to the United States in February 1964. All the tracks on side one and the first track on side two were recorded during the concert on 11 February 1964 at the Washington Coliseum in Washington DC, while the remaining songs were captured on tape during three different appearances on the hugely popular television programme The Ed Sullivan Show: the first five (tracks 2-6) on 9 February 1964 at Studio 50 on Broadway (New York), tracks 7-8-9 on 16 February at the Deauville Beach Resort in Miami Beach and the last three again at Studio 50 in New York (on 9 February, broadcast on 23 February).
