The album “Venus and Mars” released by Paul McCartney & Wings in 1975, 50 years after the album’s release, is now available as a 2-CD special edition with the latest edit. Atmos, which has been talked about as something different from the original, is different from the usual remaster and contains two new remixes from the master tapes from the studio recording sessions that have been converted into multi-channel stereo sound. The “Stereo Downmix” on CD1 is a straight stereo conversion from the Atmos multi-channel, and unlike the previous album versions, it is immediately clear that it is a re-edited sound source from the multi-channel where the vocals, chorus, and each instrument part are separated. The sound quality itself has also been improved to a level where previously buried sounds can be heard clearly, and in some songs, the performance itself has been newly mixed from a different take, which has attracted attention. CD2 is a separate remix called “Multichannel Separated” that is different from the straight downmix. This is a clearer remix of each part from the multi-track, with realistic vocals and chorus, and the guitar, bass, and drums are further separated, making it easier to understand the differences from previous mixes. This is the latest special edition edited in 2025, which is a completely alternate version when compared to the original album, evoking new discoveries and emotions!
